Oleksandr Sokolov

Professor, Dr.Sc., Associate Professor of Applied Informatics at University of Nicolaus Copernicus (Torun, Poland)

Prof. Oleksandr Sokolov graduated with honour from Kharkiv Aviation Institute in 1984. In 1990 he received the Ph.D. degree in Institute of Problems of Machine Building of the Academy of Ukrainian Science. In 2002 he defended the Doctor Thesis (Dr. habil. sc. ing.) and in 2003 received an academic title of Professor. Since 1991 he worked at National Aerospace University in Kharkiv as a professor and Head of Informatics Department. Since 2012 till now he has been working at University of Nicolaus Copernicus in Torun, Poland. In 2010 he was elected as a Member of Academy of Navigation and Motion Control. As a researcher at ABM Space Company in 2014-2016 he took part in two projects of European Space Agency - 'Docking Impender' and 'WIMR - Where Is My Rover'.

Research interests include applications of fuzzy logic, modelling and simulation of complex systems.
