I'm a software engineer at a venture-backed Silicon Valley startup called Forethought, where we develop automated response systems for customer service platforms. As a result, we spend a lot of time researching various NLP topics, including question answering and text classification. Previously, I worked on systems and infrastructure at Databricks (creators of Apache Spark), recommender systems at LinkedIn, and advertising statistics at Facebook. I got my bachelor's degree from University of Waterloo, where I was a member of competitive programming team that placed 13th at ACM ICPC world finals.
